The only even somewhat-close-to-being-a-winning-strategy that I've found is to get good damage up items to both characters in the silver Treasure Room to even stand a chance against the waves AND You might ask why would i like to fight him as the lost- the answer is you can freeze ultra greedier for a few secs whenever anima sola is up. This makes the fight a lot easier. On the run look for high dps and take every devil/angel deal with you. Angel deals might be better because of the great protective items. GL.
You can cheese it with a D20 break. Leave all the coins on the floor, use D20 to reroll coins into other items. Open your new chests, buy a battery from the shop, rinse and repeat until you have every item you could ever want. You can still cheese it with t.cain, you just gotta craft ankh or laz rags and go from there.
