Oanda's platform is java based or something and a waste of time. However both brokers let you use MT4 also, and you'll probably want to jump around to lots of different brokers if you get serious and so it's a good idea to learn metatrader4 early since pretty much everyone offers it. There's no other difference in their demo accounts.

I'd recommend FX futures, but also depending on what your starting capital is as well and your understanding of the spot and futures market.
